The recent conflict between India and Pakistan, with missile strikes and a ceasefire on May 10, 2025, reminds us to pray for peace and protection for Christians in both nations. Hebrews 13:3 calls us to “remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them.” The story of Asia Bibi, a Pakistani Christian, inspires us to pray and advocate for the persecuted.

A Group Making Big Claims
A group called the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light is based in Crewe, England, not far from us in Scotland. Their leader, Abdullah Hashem Aba Al-Sadiq, says he is the Mahdi, an Islamic saviour. He claims to be the true Pope and a successor to Jesus and Muhammad. He says his group is the true religion and will build a divine state. These claims sound like the false messiahs Jesus warned about.
A “Hinky” Feeling About Human Plans
As born-again Christians, we trust in God’s sovereignty over His creation (Psalm 24:1, “The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it”). Yet, recent news about solar geoengineering, experiments to dim the sun to fight climate change, stirs an unease in me. From the UK’s £50 million plan to Bill Gates’ funding, these human interventions feel hinky, especially when tied to figures like Anthony Fauci and global vaccine efforts.

A Blaze That Shatters Lies
In 2025, we mark 500 years of faith that smashes through deception. On January 21, 1525, Conrad Grebel baptised George Blaurock in a Zurich hideout. No baby rituals, no fluff, just a man choosing Jesus, raw and true: “He who believes and is baptised will be saved” (Mark 16:16, NKJV). That spark lit the Torchbearers’ fire, the Anabaptist movement, and it’s thundering in my soul.

Is the Glasgow Orange Walk for God or King Billy?
The Glasgow Orange Walk, organized by the Ladies Orange Association of Scotland, involves 500 participants marching through the city center on Sunday, April 27, 2025, starting at 1:45 PM BST from Holland Street and ending at Glasgow Cathedral.
