Now look, friends. I knew about this a few days ago. I waited. I let the righteous anger settle before the Lord. Then I wrote. Then I preached. I am writing again because the facts have not changed, and the Word of God has not changed.
Just over a week ago, the 11th September 2026, the 25th anniversary of the murder of nearly three thousand souls in the USA, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dame Sarah Mullally, handed an award for “reconciliation and interfaith cooperation” to Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi.
In 2007 this man honoured Osama bin Laden with the title Saifullah — Sword of Allah. He spoke of him as a fighter for Islam against the Russians, the Americans, and the British. That is not hidden. That is public record.
You do not honour a man like that on the anniversary of 9/11 and call it ministry. You do not dress it up as reconciliation. Murder is murder. The church of Jesus Christ has no business blessing the honouring of a mass murderer. It is a sick joke, and it is a grievous one.
The withdrawal does not wash it clean
After the world caught them out cried out and even warned beforehand, Lambeth Palace took the award back. They said comments had “come to light.” Those comments were already in the light. Anyone who wanted the truth could have found them.
Pulling the award after the damage is not discernment, it is incompetence on the highest level. It is the liberal machine moving only when it is embarrassed. A press statement is not repentance. The fear of man is not the fear of God.
If those who advise an overseer cannot check a man’s record before they honour him on that day, they have no right to talk about moral leadership.
A church that will not say murder is murder
The church is “the pillar and ground of the truth” (1 Timothy 3:15, NKJV). When she will not call murder what God calls murder, she has left her post.
“You shall not murder.” (Exodus 20:13, NKJV)
“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil.” (Isaiah 5:20, NKJV)
“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.” (Ephesians 5:11, NKJV)
Evasion is not the ministry of the Word. Soft language about “complexity” will not cover blood. Interfaith talk that will not name jihadist murder as sin is not love. It is compromise.
The office was never designed for a woman
This also shows us something we have been saying from the Scriptures for years. The office of overseer was not designed by the Holy Spirit for a woman.
“I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence. For Adam was formed first, then Eve.” (1 Timothy 2:12–13, NKJV)
“A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife.” (1 Timothy 3:2, NKJV)
That is not culture! That is creation and apostolic order! When the Church of England set the scriptures aside, it did not become kinder, but it became weaker. What you sow, you reap as liberalism does not always come waving a banner and sometimes it comes with an interfaith award on the day the towers fell, totally sick!
We do not hate Anglicans. We do not hate women. We honour the women the Word honours. We will not rebuild the house God designed.
Islam is not another path to the Father
Why can they not see it? Because they have stopped sitting under the authority of Scripture.
Islam is a false religion. It is an ideology that denies the Son of God, denies the cross, and offers another way. Other “isms” do the same. They leave men in their sin.
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6, NKJV)
“Nor is there salvation in any other.” (Acts 4:12, NKJV)
“Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either.” (1 John 2:23, NKJV)
I love Muslim people. They are precious. They are made in the image of God. Many are sincere. Sincerity does not save. They need Jesus. So does every man and woman bound up in a false system. Interfaith work that treats Christ as one path among many is not the gospel. It is another gospel.
What we must do
Simply teach the Word of God simply, and then do it.
Preach the Word. Be instant in season and out of season (2 Timothy 4:2). Pray that this woman would step down from an office God did not give her, and pray for her soul. God can still grant repentance.
Love your Muslim neighbour. Tell him the truth. Do not bless the darkness that holds him.
Do not yoke the gospel to shepherds who will not say murder is murder. Speak the truth in love. Leave the results with the Lord.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Until He comes, we stand on the Word.
Come, Lord Jesus.
Peter
